Ms. Brown's 5th period, 7th grade will be having a quiz on Monday, Oct. 27. Make sure your study guide is complete! You will be able to use that as a resource.
6th grade will begin to talk about percents and decimals in Module 5. 8th grade will begin to talk about linear equations and relationships using what we learned in Module 3. Go to Khan Academy or Math Goodies to prepare yourself so you can increase your confidence and show what you know already! As I mentioned to all of my students and parents this last week during parent and student conferences, the next two weeks are critical. We are wrapping up our first units in all the grade levels. If you want to improve your grade or maintain your grade there are many opportunities for you.
6th grade: Quiz on Monday, September 22 - Greatest Common Factor and Least Common Multiple. You've got this! Just keep practicing using your study guide and know the difference between the two. We will be going through Module 3 this week as well. 7th grade: Quiz on Monday, September 22 - Multiplying and Dividing Integers. Don't let the negative signs get you DOWN. :-) Just remember your rules, keep practicing using your multiplication chart and you are good to go! We will begin Module 3 this week as well. 8th grade: Unit Test Part I on Tuesday, September 23 - Scientific and Standard Notation. Study your rules and this will be a piece of cake! We will be reviewing as well for the Unit Test Part II which will be on Thursday. You will have your study guide to review and practice with so use this opportunity to master what you might not have completely mastered at the beginning of the unit. *If you want more options for practice please let me know as soon as possible so I can assist you. Remember this quote: What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. -Henry David Thoreau Please note that I added a new resource provided by the University of Hawaii. This is free homework and classwork tutoring for all our students to take advantage of. Please note the dates and times it is available.
Please feel free to add comments or questions on this area about specific skills or homework. You can also help to answer other student questions!
